Control - Alarms

At each starter an amber fault indicator should illuminate to indicate a fault.

The fault may be an electricity supply failure as detected by the supply failure relay, an overcurrent as detected by the overload or motor protection relay, or an earth as detected by the earth fault relay or a motor over temperature on motors over 45kW or a start sequence failure for starters other than direct on line or an external fault.

Fault indication at each control panel, is by a single overall fault indicator for each motor which is used to indicate any fault that is detected.

Where a SCADA system is included it should be configured to display individual faults as well as logging those faults.
